A special Team: MGS XI boasting OMs

The' Home of Cricket' played host to special commemorative match yesterday to mark the Quincentenary of Manchester Grammar School.

A special MGS XI boasting OMs, the school's current Director of Cricket Mike Watkinson and his predecessor Mark Chilton, travelled to London to take on the Cross Arrows CC at the Lord's Nursery Ground.Bowling first, the MGS boys were set an imposing target of 246 to win after Chilton had took two wickets in his first over. However, a magnificent unbeaten hundred by Nick Anderson swept the MG XI to victory with five wickets in hand.

After the teams shook hands, the MGS team and the High Master Dr Martin Boulton headed to Lincoln's Inn for the Annual 2015 MGS London Dinner. The evening included a talk by OM and Specialist Journalist of the Year Michael Crick.
