Last month, Year 9 pupil Daniel Dable lost both of his grandparents due to the Covid crisis in India.

So, to raise money for the British Asian Trust’s Oxygen for India Appeal, this weekend, Daniel braved the extremely cold open waters of Ullswater Lake. He completed a one-mile swim in a personal best of 27:17, which was a personal best for Daniel, and he also raised £697 for the Trust, which will supply Indian hospitals which are currently without oxygen and other emergency equipment and, thereby, help save lives.

We are sure that his grandparents would be as proud of him as everyone at MGS is. Well done, Daniel.
