My Where are they now? article in the Autumn 2023 edition (62) of The Old Mancunian (MGS Life > Publications > The Old Mancunian), which invited contact from former trekkers, resulted in many really interesting email conversations with former trekkers. Two of them trekked in the 1950s, but most ‘boys’ had been on Foreign Trek with me between 1980 and 2005.  Five of them had been in the best 6th form I ever taught, 3Ma -2Ma 1986 -1988, and Bruce Walker found contacts for all 11 boys in the form and their 3 teachers, me, John Willson and Steven Davison, to arrange a reunion.

So on 11th May we had a 6½ mile walk round Rudyard Lake and lunch at the Knot Inn, Rushton Spencer.

It was a marvellous occasion, with the 36 years since most of us last met disappearing into insignificance amongst the reminiscences and bonhomie.
